Aiden Lyre Shellabarger, 16, of Farmland, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017 in Farmland, Indiana following a car accident.
Aiden was born September 26, 2001 in Muncie, Indiana to John and Crystal (Williams) Shellabarger. He was a sophomore at Monroe Central High School and was a member of National Junior Honor Society. He currently worked for Dairy Queen. Aiden enjoyed playing basketball and spending time hanging out with friends.
Aiden is survived by his parents; John and Crystal Shellabarger of Farmland; His younger sister, Jade Shellabarger of Farmland; grandparents, Ron and Carolyn Williams and Kendra Shellabarger of Muncie; a great-grandmother, Jewell Winningham of Muncie; an uncle, Reggie Williams of Muncie; Aunt, Carrie King of Winchester; and three cousins, Matthew and Marshall Williams, and Riot King.
Aiden was preceded in death by his grandfather, John Shellabarger Sr.; and great-grandparents, Bill and Peg Fight.
A funeral service to celebrate Aiden’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Monroe Central High School Gymnasium, 1878 N. 1000 W. in Parker City, Indiana. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Maxville, Indiana.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, January 1, 2018 and one hour prior to service on Tuesday at Monroe Central High School Gymnasium.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital to support transgender youth. Envelopes will be available during calling hours or checks can be mailed to Gant Funeral Home, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396.
