Dennis “Bruce” Hatfield, 77, of Muncie, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 27, 2024, at his home.
Bruce was born on June 21, 1946, in Jamestown, TN to the late James and Mae Hatfield. He was a 1964 graduate of Royerton High School and went on to earn his electrical engineering degree from Purdue University. Bruce worked for General Motors for 46 years. He started at Guide Lamp in Anderson and was later transferred to General Motor’s Marion plant. Bruce loved riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and was a member of the Harley Hogs. He enjoyed working on things and tinkering in his barn. Bruce’s greatest joy was his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by two children, Kevin Hatfield and Kristi Epperson (husband Dave; four grandchildren, Amber Hatfield, Candace Beeler (husband Josh), Derek Beeler (wife Kati) and Jacob Hatfield (Grace Barber); seven great-grandchildren, Elijah, Kaeden, Zander, Jaxon, Jensen, Brayden, and Braxtyn; two brothers, Larry Hatfield (wife Sharon) and Harold Hatfield; a special niece, Lindsay Maul (husband Corey); several additional nieces and nephews; and his beloved goldendoodle, Harley.
Bruce was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Hatfield; and brother, Don Hatfield.
Bruce will be cremated with a memorial gathering to celebrate his life to be held at a later date.
