Curtis Ray Buchanan

Curtis Ray Buchanan, 85, of Yorktown, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Curtis was born July 23, 1932 in Paoli, Indiana to the late Fred and Mary (Beaty) Buchanan. He was a 1950 graduate of Center High School in Muncie and went on to earn his associates degree in business from Indiana Business College. Curtis was a Purchasing manager for Borg Warner for over 30 years before his retirement in 1993. Curtis also served as past treasurer of Hickory Hills Golf Course. He had been a member and Deacon of the Buck Creek Church of the Brethren and the First Presbyterian Church of Muncie. Curtis was also a member of the Elks Lodge and Habitat for Humanity. He enjoyed golfing, wood carving, and spending time with his family.

Curtis is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Cuba Buchanan; three children, Debbie Baldwin (husband Ron), Mike Buchanan, and Brian Buchanan (companion Nikki); a brother, Don Buchanan (wife Janice); a sister, Patty Buchanan-Nelson; seven grandchildren, Stacie Pagnard (husband Greg), Bret Buchanan, Blair Barksdale (husband Rashad), Chad Baldwin (wife Carleen), Lindsey Buchanan (fiancé Jerud), Natalie Frieden (companion Sean), and Corey Buchanan; six great-grandchildren, Camden Barksdale, Hank and Hudson Pagnard, Kali Barksdale, Beau Baldwin, and Cruz Barksdale; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Curtis’ life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel at 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396. Inurnment will be at a later date.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Curtis.
