Mary Ann (Carpenter) Potter

Mary Ann Potter, 78, of Eaton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 28, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Mary Ann was born April 8, 1940 in Muncie to the late Ivan and Anna (Rooney) Carpenter. She was a Muncie Central High School graduate. Mary Ann worked for K-mart on the north side of Muncie for many years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Mary Ann enjoyed hosting parties with her family. She loved music and to dance. She also enjoyed swimming and playing bingo. Her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann is survived by a daughter, Jackie Wright (husband Blaine) of Eaton; three grandchildren, Shannon Dennis (husband Matt) of Eaton, Kylie Barker (husband Josh) of Muncie, and Brandon Wright (wife Brittney) of Eaton; two great-grandchildren, Lily and Ella Dennis; her brother, Bob Carpenter (wife Lea) of Muncie; and several special nieces and special nephews.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Potter; a daughter, Michelle Potter; brother, John Carpenter; and sister, Rose Bennett.

A graveside service to celebrate Mary Ann’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, November 1, 2018 at Thompson Cemetery, west of Gaston on County Road 850 North. Father Robert Williams will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Little Red Door, 2311 W. Jackson St., Muncie, IN 47303.
