Patricia S. Sayre, 86, of Gaston, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 5, 2018 at Golden Living Center in Muncie, Indiana.
Patty was born July 20, 1932 in Summitville, Indiana to the late Chester and Louise (Barnes) Kirkpatrick. She attended Summitville High School until the 11th grade and graduated from Gaston High School in 1950. Patty had worked for Merchants bank, Party House, and Gant Funeral Homes. She was a member of the Prairie Grove Church, the Matthews Eastern Star, and was past Worthy Matron of the Purity Chapter #126.
Patty is survived by two daughters, Sheila Ruhnow (husband Rich) and Kristy Sayre; sister, Betty McCaslin; a sister-in-law, Sue Sayre; three grandchildren, Troy Rose, Matt Ruhnow (wife Michelle), and Andrew Ruhnow; three great-grandchildren, T.J. Sholes, Caden Ruhnow, and Connor Ruhnow; and several nieces and nephews.
Patty was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Donald Sayre.
A funeral service to celebrate Patty’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, September 10, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Pastor Joe Blaylock will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2:00 P.M. until 5:00 P.M. Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
