Paul "Eddy" Collins

Paul E. “Eddy” Collins, 77, of Gaston, passed away on December 24, 2017 at his home in rural Gaston following a lengthy illness.

Eddy was born April 14, 1940 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Paul G. and Naomi (Wright) Collins. He graduated in 1958 from Gaston High School. Eddy worked for Delco Battery for 36 years, retiring in 1997. Eddy was a member of the Matthews Masonic Lodge and the Muncie Murpah Shriner Club. He enjoyed restoring cars, fishing, and deer and mushroom hunting.

Eddy is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Dorothy “Dottie” Collins; three children, Rodney Collins (wife Donna) of Camden, TN, Denise Collins of Montpelier, and Heath Collins (wife Becky) of Rock Island, TN; five siblings, Jeanette Ward (husband George), Marge Ann Rinker, Elaine Seals (husband Herb), Norman Collins (wife Trudy), and Ray Collins (wife Jeanene); five grandchildren, Jordan, Micah, and Sarah Collins, Ashley Phifer (husband Zach), and Amber Collins; a great-grandchild, Aylen Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Eddy’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Funeral Celebrant Joshua Miller along with the Matthews Masonic Lodge will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
