Robert E. Davis

Robert E. Davis, 66, of Muncie, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a sudden illness.

Robert was born December 6, 1951 in Cammack, Indiana to the late Benjamin and Helen (Warren) Davis. Robert attended Yorktown High School. He retired from the Muncie Sanitation Department in 2015. Robert enjoyed mowing, fishing, motorcycles, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Robert is survived by two sons, Aaron Davis (wife Jennifer) of Indianapolis and Adam Davis of Muncie; two sisters, Diana Reynolds of Ft. Recovery, OH and Barbara Jones of Muncie; five grandchildren, Connor Davis, Courtney Davis, Carleigh Davis, Kaitlin Davis, and Kelli Davis; an uncle, Pete Davis; friend, Dick Howell; and several nieces and nephews.

Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Cathy Davis.

A funeral service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396. Pastor Jerry Thomas will officiate. Entombment will follow in Hawk Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Thursday, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
