Rosalie M. (Piner) Applegate

Rosalie M. Applegate, 94, of Yorktown, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Yorktown Manor following an extended illness.

Rosalie was born November 30, 1923 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Raymond and Pearl (McGalliard) Piner. She attended Muncie City Schools. Rosalie married Charles Applegate on July 19, 1941 and was married nearly 50 years before his death in 1990. Rosalie was a member of the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene.

Rosalie is survived by her three children, Dave Applegate (wife Shirley), Joyce Stout (husband Mike), and Tommy Applegate (wife Debbie) all of Yorktown; seven grandchildren, Aaron Applegate, Mark Ransom (wife Connie), Brad Ransom (wife Cinde), Jeff Stout (wife Anne), Joey Stout (wife Andra), Ashley Greiwe, and Zach Atkinson; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Rosalie was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Applegate; parents, Raymond and Pearl Piner; two sisters, Lila Whited and Donnie Fruitt; and four brothers, Gene, Charles, Bill, and Herbie Piner.

A funeral service to celebrate Rosalie’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel at 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, Indiana. Pastor Brian Couch will officiate. Burial will follow in Yorktown Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
