Todd L. McCord

Todd L. McCord, 48, of Gaston, passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana after suffering a brief illness.

Todd was born in Muncie on June 26, 1969 and was raised in the Gaston area. He graduated from Wes-Del High School in 1988 and was a volunteer fire fighter for Gaston. He was a construction worker and was last employed on the Elm Ridge Cemetery grounds crew. He loved to fish, have bonfires, drink beer, and spend time with his family and friends. He was also an avid lighthouse collector and loved anything to do with boats.

Todd is survived by his wife, Paula McCord; four children, Kendra Leffingwell (husband Ryan), Brooklyn Knight (husband Devin), Nick McCord, and Summer McCord; granddaughter, Azaela Leffingwell; Step-children, Shawn Jones (fiancé Lindsay Manes) and Brandon Owens (fiancé Randy Lagle); step-granddaughter, Melia Manes; brother-in-law, Chris Jones (fiancée Ashley McCord); brothers, Joe McCord (girlfriend Carrie), Tony McCord (wife Gidget), Donny McCord (wife Racheal), Brad McCord (wife Heather),and  Jerry McCord (husband Alex); sister, Wendy Moore (husband Larry); several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss him dearly.

Todd was preceded in death by his mother, Toni McCord and two brothers Rick and James (Jimmy) McCord.

A funeral service to celebrate Todd’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
