Alice Jacqueline (Loser) Bartle

Alice Jacqueline (Loser) Bartle, 76, of Muncie, passed away September 4, 2016, at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

A native of Delaware County, she was born on August 27, 1940, to Everett and Lulu Loser, both of whom preceded her in death.

Alice graduated from Gaston High School in 1958, where she was a cheerleader and voted most popular girl in school. Her concern for others, kind and gentle spirit, and down-to-earth nature that led to school popularity also led to her endearment by so many others throughout her life, more than seven decades of which she resided in Delaware County. She lived in the Gaston area for the past 15 of those years.

She is the mother of four children: Doug Wright, Greg Wright, Curt Wright and Zina (Bartle) Daniel. Sons Greg and Curt preceded her in death, as did one brother, Ronnie Loser. She is survived by her children Doug and Zina, and by three siblings, Barbara (Loser) Wolf, Nancy (Loser) Janney and Thomas Loser, as well as two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Once her children were in middle school, Alice began working at Lowery’s Home Made Candies in Muncie, where she spent more than 30 years hand-dipping chocolates. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the ladies at Lowery’s for the love, generosity and friendship they’ve extended to Alice as her “second family.”

A private prayer service prior to the scattering of ashes will be held later in September, by family invitation only.

Memorial contributions may be given in Alice’s memory to the Gaston Community Church, 106 W Elm Street, Gaston, IN 47342, where she regularly attended church.
