Barbara J. (Dearduff) Lawvere

Barbara Lawvere, 79, of Matthews, Indiana, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Barbara was born on October 9, 1941 in Muncie, Indiana. She was a 1961 graduate of Montpelier High School and went on to earn her business degree from Indiana Business College. Barbara worked as a dietary aide at University Nursing Center in Upland for 10 years before her retirement. Barbara enjoyed attending car shows, watching golf, and watching cooking shows. She especially cherished her many Las Vegas trips with her daughter, Tammie.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Tammie Armstrong (husband Doug) of Matthews; cousin, JoAnne Barnett (husband Larry); and the family dog, Rockie.

Barbara was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Dearduff; and several aunts and uncles.

A funeral service to celebrate Barbara’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 18, 2021 at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Pastor Joe Ruberg will officiate. Burial will follow in Matthews Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Thursday, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
