Bernice L Hutton

Bernice L. Hatton, of Gaston, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Signature Health Care in Muncie.

Bernice was born November 2, 1924 in Delaware County, Indiana to the late Orlando and Maude Plummer. Bernice graduated in 1942 from Yorktown High School. She spent her life as a farmer’s wife and homemaker. She was a lifetime member of Reed Station Church and attended Corinth Christian Church.

Bernice is survived by eight nieces and nephews; Audrey Bell (husband Harold) of Muncie, Marleta Parker of California, Peggy Peterson of Angola, Janice Delk of Jamestown, TN, Donnie Addison (wife Mary Ann) of Alexandria, Nedra Hiatt of Alexandria, Randall Williams (wife Becky) of Muncie, and Lenzell Williams (wife Judy) of Montpelier.

Bernice was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Lowell Hatton; five siblings, Arthur Plummer, Irvin Plummer, Cleva Hendsel, Estel Williams, and Viva Addison; and five nieces and nephews, Larry and Marvin Williams, and Lyle, Lowell, and Duane Hendsel.

A funeral service to celebrate the life of Bernice will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, May 1, 2015, at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St, Gaston, IN. Pastor Doug Blake will officiate. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery, Yorktown, IN.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, April 30, 2015 and also one hour prior to services on Friday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Corinth Christian Church’s Building Fund, 8009 N. County Road 500 W. Muncie, IN 47304.
