Betty J (Beekman) Ball

Betty J. (Beekman) Ball, 71, of Muncie, passed away Friday, April 14, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Betty was born on April 15, 1945 to Robert and Lucille (Johnson) Beekman in Muncie. She graduated from Eaton High School. She retired from Ball State University in 2013. She was a member of Parents With-out Partners. She enjoyed dancing, NASCAR, and spending time with her family.

Betty is survived by her husband, Leonard Ball of Muncie; her four children, Julie Hobbs (husband Ryan) of Muncie, Lenna Ball (special friend Duane McCaffrey) of Yorktown, Brian Ball of Muncie, and Robert Ball (wife Celena) of Gaston; sisters, Virginia Puckett of Versailles, Kentucky, Ruthanne Dant of Rockport, and Marty Biggs (husband Larry) of Lafayette; brother, Bruce Beekman of Muncie; six grandchildren, Seth Meyer (wife Ashly), Hanna Meyer, Miranda Wogerman (fiancé Dakota), Hayley Pryor, Miciah Ball, and Cole Ball; four great-grandchildren, Emery, Jensen, Aeris, and Valerie; and several nieces and nephews.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lucille (Johnson) Beekman and her step-mother “Grandma” Benny.

A funeral service to celebrate Betty’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Cremation will follow.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Tuesday April 18, 2017 and also one hour prior to the service Wednesday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
