Betty Morgan Obituary

Betty Louise (Monger) Morgan, 96, of Gaston, graduated from this life on Thursday, November 7, 2024, to her Heavenly home.

Betty was born on July 7, 1928, to the late Thomas and Maude (Lamb) Monger in Wayne County, Indiana. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1946 and was Secretary to the Superintendent of schools in the same school system, Cambridge City / Jackson Twp. Schools (Western Wayne School Corp) until 1957. She married Milford Morgan of Gaston in 1956, and they moved to rural Gaston in 1957. Betty’s other employment was at Central Indiana Gas Co. (Vectren) in Muncie and secretary at Harrison Twp. Elementary School (Wes-Del School Corp) for nine years. Betty was a member of Cammack United Methodist Church where she taught Bible study and other positions in the church. Betty loved reading, oil painting, Bible study and teaching, crossword puzzles, sharing her love for Jesus with others, and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren.  Her wish for her life was to be a “steppingstone” for others to find and grow in Christ.

Betty is survived by two sons, Jay Morgan (wife Jan) and John Anderson (wife Lisa); four grandchildren, Abigail Morgan, Megan Morgan, Luke Andrson (wife Mikayle), and Jon Woodard (wife Meagan); three great-grandchildren, Eric Parker, Claire Woodard, and Rylae Woodard.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband Milford in 2014; a brother, Paul Monger; and two sisters, Barbara Hill and Jean Jones.

A private family graveside service followed by burial will take place in Thompson Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Cammack United Methodist Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice in memory of Betty.
