Billy Lee Haste, 73, of Gaston, passed away on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Billy was born on June 23, 1945 to the late Lee and Opal (Miller) Haste. He was a 1963 graduate of Harrison Township High School and went on to earn his associates degree from Ivy Tech College. Billy was a United States Army Veteran and worked for many years at Westinghouse and then RCA.
Billy is survived by two children, John Haste of Gaston and Jama Haste of Ft. Myers, FL; three step-children, Jack Folley (wife Elaine) of Muncie; Scott Folley of Fairmount, and Laurie Irwin of Cape Coral, FL; sister, Shirley Divens (husband Dennis) of Scottsville, TN; ex-wife, Myrna Haste of Ft. Myers, FL; three grandchildren, Mallary Haste, Elijah Haste, and Lucy Haste; and several step-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Billy was preceded in death by two sisters, Martha Kay South and Linda South.
A memorial service to celebrate Billy’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 31, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
