Bruce Alan Ragland, 62, of Gaston, passed away on Friday, February 7, 2025, from injuries sustained in a trucking accident.
Bruce was born on October 5, 1962, to the late Cordie and Elsie Ragland. He was a 1981 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Following high school, Burce served his country in the United States Air Force. He was currently a truck driver for Walmart. He had also driven for Carter-Schnieder Trucking during his 14-year career. Prior to truck driving, Bruce had worked as manager of Hardee’s and as a corrections officer at Pendleton. Bruce was a member and sound technician at Harris Chapel Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his 49ers and Alabama Crimson Tide playing football. His greatest joy was time spent with his grandchildren.
Bruce is survived by his son, Drew Ragland (wife Kathryn “Kyra”); 15 grandchildren, Sirius Ragland, Christina Ragland, Trinity McClellen, Evelynn McDaniel, John Robetson, Prudence Allford, Scarlet Konkle, Amelia Konkle, Maylin Robertson, Jacob Eden, Leah Nichols, Serena Rigney, Darrell Ragland, and Maximus Starks; two brothers, Ron Ragland (wife Brenda) and Keith Ragland (wife Tammy); and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to Bruce’s parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Gayle Ragland.
A funeral service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston. Pastor Jim Ballenger will officiate with military honors to follow at the funeral Home. Cremation will follow services.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Saturday, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
