Deloris Alberta (Black) Goodman

Deloris Alberta Goodman, 90, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at her home in Muncie.

Deloris was born on July 22, 1932, in Gaston to the late George and Lida Black. She was a 1950 graduate of Gaston High School. She married Edward Goodman on January 17, 1953. Deloris was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts, cooking, baking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a longtime advocate for children with disabilities.

Deloris is survived by three sons, Steven Goodman of Muncie, Kevin Goodman (wife Debra) of Centennial, CO, and Tony Goodman (Companion, Missy Walls) of Muncie; a grandson, Cameron Goodman of Denver, CO; sister, Ramona Benadum of Gaston; beloved nieces and nephews; and her loving Chihuahua, Elmo.

Deloris was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Edward Goodman; and a brother, Charles Black.

A funeral service to celebrate Deloris’ life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, June 5, 2023, and also one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
