Diana Jean Basicker, 62, of Gaston, passed away on November 15, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Diana was born on August 6, 1959, in Rushville, Indiana. Diana was a 1977 graduate of Yorktown High School. She married John Basicker on September 17, 1977. Diana worked as a preschool teacher at River of Life Daycare. She had also worked for First Church of the Nazarene Kiddy Kingdom Daycare, Gaston Elementary, Harrison Elementary, Wes-Del Schools, and Star Financial Bank. Diana loved children and dedicated her life to them. Diana also enjoyed painting and crafts.
Diana is survived by her husband of 44 years, John Basicker; two daughters, Kristin Basicker of Trenton, OH and Ashley Basicker of Gaston; her mother, Donna Jean Ferguson of Yorktown; brother, Scott Ferguson (wife Cindy) of Florida; sister, Terry Doughty of Anderson; sister-in-law, Sheila Shepherd (husband John) of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Diana was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Ferguson.
Diana’s family will hold a private service with Pastor Tom Farling officiating. Private burial will be in Thompson Cemetery. A public celebration of Diana’s life will be held in the spring.
