Donald Lee Triplett Sr., 81, of Desoto, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at his son’s home in Yorktown.
Don was born on January 30, 1940 in Eaton, Indiana to the late Guy and Mary (Gibson) Triplett. He attended Eaton schools and graduated from Muncie Central High School. Don retired in 1993 from General Motors after 25 years. Don continued to work driving for the Amish and car dealerships. Don had also owned and operated a small engine repair shop from his home for over 50 years. Don was a member of Destiny Christian Center. He enjoyed working with his hands, fishing, and going to the lakes.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Carole (Pyke) Triplett; three children, Heidi Jo Triplett, Jackie Mitchell, and Donnie Triplett Jr., three stepchildren, Julie Brubeck, William Montgomery, and Wayne Montgomery (wife Veneca); brother, Richard Triplett; sister, Patricia Findley (husband John); 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and several cousins, nieces, and a nephew.
Don was preceded in death by his sister Carol Heskett.
A memorial service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 4:00 pm Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Desoto United Methodist Church, 6309 N. 500 E., Muncie, IN 47303.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm Saturday, March 27, 2021, at Desoto United Methodist Church.
