Donald J. Young

Donald J. Young, 92, of Yorktown, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday morning, January 28, 2019 at Yorktown Manor.

Don was born May 29, 1926 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Charles and Elizabeth Young. He was a 1945 graduate of Frankfort High School. Don worked for both ABB Westinghouse and as a mailman for the United State Postal Service for 20 years. Don was also a volunteer fireman for the Yorktown Fire Department and was a member of the Yorktown Lions Club. He enjoyed traveling.

Donald is survived by two sons, Nick C. Young of Naples, FL and Kurt B. Young of Yorktown; two granddaughters, Caitlin Young of Lafayette and Ciara Young of Naples, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Donald was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carole (Teegarden) Young; a daughter, Donna Stanley; and six siblings.

A funeral service to celebrate Don’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, February 2, 2019 at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396. Burial of Don’s ashes will be in Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana at a later date.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
