Obituary

Elizabeth C. “Libby” Rehse, 80, of Yorktown, passed away on Saturday, January 16, 2021 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

 

Libby was born on March 30, 1940 in Hartford City, Indiana to the late Floyd and Geneva (Martin) Conner. She was a 1958 graduate of Saginaw High School in Saginaw, Michigan.  She married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Rehse on April 3, 1988. Libby retired from Diamond Plastics in 2001 and had also worked for JC Penney, Grissom Elementary School, Indiana Michigan Power, and Ball Corp. She was a member of Mt. Olive Community Church. Libby enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and spending winters in Florida for 17 years.

 

Libby is survived by two children, Kurt Kimble (Michelle) of Jacksonville, FL and Karen Foster (Mitch) of Noblesville; four stepchildren, Rob Rehse of Austin, TX, Cindy Reno (Larry) of Selma, Pam Johnson (Andy) of Monticello, and Sherri Moss (Rick) of Angola; five grandchildren, Dr. Kylie Foster (Andrew) of Indianapolis, Dakota Foster of Fishers, Bailey Foster of Indianapolis, Loreli Kimble of Jacksonville, FL and Leighann Kimble of Jacksonville, FL; nine step-grandchildren, Sean Reno (Jin) of S. Korea, Chad Reno (Andrea) of Dunkirk, Ryan Parris of Monticello, Crystal Krintz (Jason) of Monticello, Tommy Moore (Justine) of Monticello, Dr. Brandon Moore (Raul Ramirez) of Columbus, OH, Heather Moore of Monticello, Josh Moore, and Zach Moore; 14 great-grandchildren; and many friends.

 

Libby was preceded in death by her loving husband of 32 years, Robert Rehse; a brother, Everett Cecil Conner; and five sisters, Gladys Hepstall, Madeline Jones, Muriel Osborn, Opal Osborn Holter, and Rosemary Taylor.

 

A graveside funeral service to celebrate Libby’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Jones Cemetery located at IN332 and county road 850 North. Masks and social distancing required. Pastor Rodney Eisler will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions may be given to Mt. Olive Community Church, 5000 N. Nebo Rd., Muncie, IN 47304.
