Gregory Allen Richardson, 70, of Gaston, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Greg was born on July 19, 1952, in Muncie to the late Russell M. and Lila D. (Basicker) Richardson. He was a 1971 graduate of Wes-Del High School. Greg married Rose Marie Leek Richardson on February 2, 1974. He retired from Stoops Automotive and had previously been the owner and operator of Richardson Auto Body. Greg was a fan of the Colts and IU basketball. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and old hot rods.
Greg is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rose Richardson; their two children, Andrea L. Smith (husband Brian) and Greg A. Richardson (wife Sarah); five grandchildren, Alex and Sean Gibson, and Charlotte, Hadley, and Benjamin Richardson; two sisters, Carlotta Blair and Mary Greer (husband Michael); two brothers-in-law, Gary Ireland and Joe Reading; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Greg was preceded in death by two sisters, Roseann Ireland and Pamela Sue Reading; and a brother-in-law, Garre Blair.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston.
A private family graveside service and burial will be in Thompson Cemetery in Gaston.
