Jack Speidel

Jack Speidel, 64, of Yorktown, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2016 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

Jack was born May 17, 1952 in Blackford County, IN to the late Jack Speidel Sr. and Roberta Grove. Jack attended Burris High School and worked in sales for over 35 years. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge. Jack loved sports weather he was playing, watching, or coaching. He especially enjoyed his 20 plus years coaching softball, baseball, and football.

Jack is survived by his loving wife, Lesley Speidel; seven children; Shelia Webster, Shane Speidel, Ryan Speidel, Craig Speidel (wife Trista), Stephanie Benson (husband Ben), Michael Speidel (fiancé Brittney), and Stewart King (fiancé Danielle); four siblings, Joseph Speidel, Rachel Walters, Tamara Wilt, and Jim Crowder; 18 grandchildren, Tyler, Brandon, Dylan, Marley, Mariah, Maggie, Justice, Kaylynn, Emily, Adlee, Braxton, Christopher, Jayden, Jordan, Jaylee, Jace, and Jonah; two great-grandchildren, Annabel and Kymia; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, Indiana. Pastor Bill Bruno will officiate. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to aid in funeral expenses in care of Lesley Speidel.
