Jacob L. Gentry Jr.

Jacob L. Gentry Jr., 51, of Yorktown, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

JR was born on June 17, 1974, in Portland, Indiana. He was a 1994 graduate of Winchester High School and went on to earn his automotive associate degree from Ivy Tech. JR worked as a truck driver for Tug-It Trucking. He also worked at the Randolph County Asylum where he was interested in the paranormal and ghost hunting. JR’s favorite pastime was spending time with his grandbabies.

JR is survived by his loving wife 29 years, Annie Gentry; four children, Cheyenne Gentry, Ciara Halsema (Caleb), Giavanni Gentry (Kurt Dickerson), and Jacob Gentry; three grandchildren, Greyson Halsema, Raelynn Halsema, and Jaclynn Halsema; his mother, Vickie Gentry; four siblings, Pam Konkle (Matt), Tina Perry, Matt Gentry (Jess), and Brandy Smock (Dave); and several nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

JR was preceded in death by his father, Jacob Gentry Sr.; grandparents, Raymond and Janet Gentry; and two uncles, David Ezra and Raymond Gentry.

JR’s family will hold a celebration of life for JR at 1:00 pm Sunday, September 14, 2025, at Marrow’s Meadow Park in Yorktown.
