James Robert Fields,73, entered into rest in Racine, Wisconsin at Ascension All Saints Hospital, on December 27, 2022 unexpectedly from cardiac arrest. James was born on November 17, 1949, in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Lige and Mary Fields.
James served his country in the United States Marine Corp. and traveled experiencing several jobs before settling at Exide Technologies, where he retired after an injury.
James was a family man who loved the outdoors, enjoyed warm weather, sunshine and sitting by the ocean. He liked spending time tinkering in his workshop and strumming on his guitar. He loved traveling with his wife Mickey and spending time with his family.
James is survived by his wife Micholette “Mickey” (Galovits) Fields, a daughter Jami Armstrong (husband Tim) of Texas, two grandchildren: Raquel and Trey Collins, of Texas, two stepchildren, three step grandchildren, a step great grandchild, a brother and his best friend, Bill, 2 sisters; Laura and Tilda, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
James is preceded in death by grandson Dylan Hines, a brother Thurman, two sisters: Lorene and Liz.
Funeral services for James will be held Friday, January 6, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at Wesleyan Chapel Church, 1819 E. 26th Street. Muncie, Indiana 47302, with Brother Mark officiating. Friends and family may gather to share and remember James, from 12:00 noon until the time of service on Friday. Burial will follow at Tomlinson Cemetery with military honors.
