Jerry Lee Brimhall

Jerry Lee Brimhall, 80, formerly of Gaston, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at Alive Hospice in Nashville, Tennessee.

Jerry was born September 24, 1936 in Fort Wayne to the late Claude W. and Isabella M. (Grim) Brimhall. He graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1954 and attended Ball State University. Jerry was a United States Marine Corp. veteran. He was a hard worker. He was an entrepreneur and factory worker. Jerry also served nearly 20 years on the Gaston Volunteer Fire Department. He was a member of the Matthews Masonic Lodge and the Gaston American Legion. Jerry enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, and telling jokes.

Jerry is survived by three daughters, Rita Wall (husband Tim) of Burns, TN, Lisa Barnett (husband Blake) of White Bluff, TN, and Jeri Lynn Bowers (husband Mark) of Madison, TN; sister, Jane Brimhall of Muncie; ten grandchildren, Eric Cunningham (wife Addie), Mark Cunningham (wife Christine), Derrick Wall (wife Hannah), Jeremy Wall, Jaclyn Wall, Mikael Barnett (wife Alex), Morgan Mowbray (husband Darrell) Jonathan Barnett, Joseph Barnett, and Garrett Kelley; 13 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Joanne Black; Son-in-law, Dennis Cunningham; and nephew, Ricky Bee (wife Denise).

Jerry was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Sharon (Bye) Brimhall; daughter, Sue Ann Cunningham; and his sister and her husband, Beverly and Don Bee.

A funeral service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 23, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel at 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, IN. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park in Marion with military honors.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Sunday, January 22, 2017 with a Masonic service held at 5:30 P.M. Calling will also be one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
