Jerry E. Haynes

Jerry E. Haynes, 55, of Gaston, passed away on Friday, September 8, 2023, following a sudden illness at his home in Gaston.

Jerry was born on June 29, 1968, in Muncie, to the late Lawerance Edward and Bessie Helen Haynes. He was a 1987 graduate of Wes-Del High School. Jerry owned and operated JH Home Improvements for over 25 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, football, golf, and traveling with his girls.

Jerry is survived by two daughters, Audrea Haynes and Chloe Whitley; his partner, Shelley Williamson; his 2nd mom, Sally Presser; sister, Charline Swallow; two nephews, William Swallow (Brooklyn Enright) and Carl Swallow (and family); and a great niece, Vivienne Enright.

Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Danny Haynes.

A funeral service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 15, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Friday at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
