Jerry Joe Larsen

Jerry Joe Larsen, 63, of Gaston, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at Community Hospital East in Indianapolis following an extended illness.

Jerry was born on August 5, 1957 in Muncie, Indiana. He graduated from Wes-Del High School and went on to earn his associate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. Jerry was a deputy sheriff for the Muncie Police Department, worked at City Tool & Die in Muncie, was a foreman at Indiana Glass Factory in Dunkirk, was general manager at Alphabet Factory in Portland, and worked in janitorial at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie throughout his life. Jerry attended Gaston Community Church. He enjoyed being outdoors and took great pride in his yard work. Jerry was a loyal husband and father.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife, Heather (Donaldson) Larsen; Son, Hayden Brock; sister, Betty McCoin (husband Bill); three brothers, John Larsen (wife Kathy), Kurt Larsen (wife Dorothy), and Pete Larsen (wife Darlene); a half-sister, Alexis; two sisters-in-law, Augusta Donaldson (Jim Savage) and Stephanie Cox (husband Anthony); three nieces, Trinity Davis, Nevaeh Davis, and Tara McCoy; and several extended family members.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, George and Dorothy (Smith) Larsen who raised him; and his biological parents, John and Kay (Paswater) Larsen.

A funeral service to celebrate Jerry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Cremation will follow services with burial of Jerry’s ashes in Thompson Cemetery at a later date.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
