Joyce Elaine (Applegate) Stout

Joyce Elaine Stout, 76, of Yorktown, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Joyce was born on February 19, 1947, in Yorktown to the late Charles and Rosalie Applegate. She was a lifelong resident of Yorktown and a Yorktown High School graduate. Joyce lived for her husband, sons, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her laughter and smile will be missed.

Joyce is survived by two brothers, David (Shirley) Applegate and Tommy (Debbie) Applegate; two sons, Jeff (Anne) Stout and Joey (Andra) Stout; five grandchildren, Madelin, Riley, Zackary, Tanner, and Connor; five great-grandchildren, Levi, Claire, Stella, Addilyn, and Yareli; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Michael Stout.

A funeral service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Burial will follow in Hawk Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
