Kerry Alan Hatfield, 33, of Gaston, passed away unexpectedly of a brief illness on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, at his home in Muncie.
Kerry was born on January 18, 1988, in Muncie, Indiana. Kerry was a 2006 graduate of Wes-Del High School where he wrestled and played football. He worked as a Forklift Truck Operator. Kerry was a comedian who enjoyed making those around him laugh. He had a big heart and loved animals and kids. Kerry enjoyed helping on the farm and sports, especially Florida State football.
Kerry is survived by his mother, Karen Collins (husband Brent); father, Todd Hatfield; three brothers, Duell Hatfield, Trace Collins, and Reese Collins; his best friend, Larry May; paternal grandparents, Larry and Sharon Hatfield; maternal grandmother, Rita Sayre; uncle, Tony Hatfield; two cousins, Josh and Timber Hatfield; 2nd cousin, Levon Hatfield; great aunt, Marilyn Scales; and several additional great aunts and great uncles.
Kerry was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Joe Sayre; and aunt, Vicki Sayre.
A funeral service to celebrate Kerry’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston. Pastor Rodney Eiler will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Tuesday, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
