April 26, 1974 ~ October 26, 2023 (age 49) 49 Years Old

Kyle Parks Obituary

Kyle Andrew Parks, 49, of Muncie, went home to be with Jesus on Thursday, October 26, 2023.  A hardworking welder and loving father, Kyle was born on April 26, 1974, to Kathie Hiatt and Dan Parks.  Having been a three-sport athlete, playing football, basketball, and baseball, he graduated from Wes-Del high school in 1993. He took great pride in being a Warrior who was loved by all.  Once a Warrior always a Warrior. Then in 1994 he graduated from Hobart Institute of Welding Technology.  He has been a proud union member of the Local 440 for 17 years yet mastered his trade for the last 29 years.  He was a hardworking, exemplary welder who always had an apprentice - he loved teaching the tricks of the trade. He always said, “Cheap labor isn’t skilled, skilled labor isn’t cheap.”

He married Jennifer Richards on August 30, 2014. There’s nothing that brought him greater joy than his daughters, including their dog, Molly. One of his strongest attributes was being a loving and doting father and husband. Kyle loved all and held a special place for many in his heart.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; daughters, Sydney and Natalie; his mother, Kathie (Chris) Hiatt; his dad, Dan (Rose)Parks; brother, Tad (Erin) Parks; two nephews, Cullen Roberts and Jude Parks; and many loving cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his Grandparents Keith Rathbun, Jack and Betty Trickler, Louis and Eunita Parks, his Uncle Rick Rathbun, Aunt Linda Brant, Cousins Shane Newby and Dylan Jordan, and his lifelong best friend Bryan Richards.

Kyle enjoyed riding his Harley, boating with his family, shooting his bow, and golfing. Golfing on Father’s Day was a tradition, and the girls remember him always yelling at the TV when the Colts scored. He was an avid Notre Dame fan and loved watching all things sports.

A memorial service to celebrate Kyle’s life will be held at 6:00 pm Tuesday, November 7, 2023, at Muncie First Church of the Nazarene, 3101 N. Benton Rd. in Muncie. Pastor Ian Fancher and Pastor Mark Dill will officiate with a dinner to follow.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm Tuesday at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given for the future of his daughters in care of Jennifer Richards, Secret Families, or Blood and Fire Ministries. They can be sent to Gant Funeral Home, 2215 S. Broadway St. Yorktown, IN 47396 or dropped off at the service.
