Lana M. Richards, 62, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at her home in Anderson surrounded by her family.
Lana was born on December 4, 1961, in Muncie, Indiana. She served in the United States Army and worked as a Military Pay Specialist for the Department of Defense. Lana was a member of the Veterans of Madison County. She enjoyed cooking for her family and always having snacks for her grandchildren. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and she loved attending all of their sporting events and extracurricular activities.
Lana is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Timothy Richards; two children, Joshua Richards (Megan Cummings), and Jason and Brittani Richards; four grandchildren, Mason, Cash, Carson, and Cece Richards; her mother, Joyce Hargis; two sisters, Lavonne Quakenbush (Tim) and Melinda Green (Kevin); brother, Jay Hargis; mother-in-law, Monta Richards; best friend, Cindy Crull; two sons in heart, Brandon Hughes and Casey Bradley; and many other beloved family and friends.
Lana is preceded in death by a brother, Leroy “Oscar” Hargis; and father-in-law, Dick Richards.
A memorial service to celebrate Lana’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, February 11, 2024, at the Compass Church, 8116 W. Jackson St. in Muncie. Pastor Brandon Hughes will officiate.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm Sunday at the church.
