Marjorie Esther (Evans) Bickel, 88, of Yorktown, passed away on Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Yorktown Manor.
Marjorie was born on May 15, 1933, in Muncie, to the late Charles and Lulu Gertrude (Urich) Evans. She was a 1951 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Marjorie was a homemaker and had worked at Ross Supermarkets. She enjoyed gardening, birdwatching, and traveling.
Marjorie is survived by three children, Richard Wages (wife Cheryl) of Muncie, Judith Willis (husband Richard) of Moore, OK, and Timothy Wages (partner Janet Campbell) of Indianapolis; two brothers, Charles Evans (wife Peggy) and James Evans (wife Barbara) both of Muncie; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband, William “Frank” Bickel; son, David E. Wages; two brothers; and four sisters.
A memorial service to celebrate Marjorie’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown.
Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
