Mary E. "Mid" (Warfel) Neff

Mary E. “Mid” Neff, 88, of Yorktown, passed away on Friday, February 24, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.

Mid was born on August 6, 1934, in Yorktown to the late Linden and Joanna Warfel. She was a 1952 graduate of Yorktown High School. Mid retired from the Yorktown Post Office after many years of service. She enjoyed spending time with friends at Osborn’s Café was a mother to many children that were not necessarily her own.

Mid leaves behind her five children, Alan Neff (wife Barb), Carla Cannon (husband Jim), Beth Neff (husband Bryan Hughes), David Neff (wife Serena), and Eric Neff (wife Lisa); 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and good friends.

Mid was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Neff; three siblings, Elmer Warfel, Jim Warfel (wife Pat) , and Verna McDonald; and her sister in-law, Charlene Lavallee (husband Dick).

Mid’s family will hold a celebration of life service for her in Sarasota, Florida where she will be interred next to her husband Charlie, in Sarasota National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to IU Health Ball Memorial Hospice, 2401 W. University Ave., Muncie, IN 47304.
