Monica Denise (Armstrong) Roberts

Monica Denise Roberts, 57, of Gaston, passed away on July 10, 2022, at University Nursing Center in Upland.

Monica was born on September 29, 1964, in Muncie to the late George Sr. and Patricia Armstrong. She was a 1984 graduate of Wes-Del High School. She worked as a CNA for University Nursing Center and had also worked for the Woodlands and Ball Memorial Hospital. Monica was president of the Gaston Legion Auxiliary #387 and a member of the Alexandria Eagles #1771. Monica was a social butterfly. She enjoyed life, spending time with her family and friends, and loved to dance.

Monica is survived by three children, Michael Justice of Parker City, Allen Justice of Matthews, and Stephanie Pattengale (husband Robbie) of Kokomo; Step-daughter, Jennifer Roberts of Indianapolis; four siblings, Brian Armstrong (wife Chris) of Muncie, Vickie Oliver (husband Jim) of Gaston, Sue Ann Oliver (husband Mike) of Matthews, and Lisa Armstrong of Gaston; partner, Rick Kirkpatrick of Matthews; five grandchildren, Karson, Kaylee, Aria, and Asher Pattengale, and Aden Justice; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved cats, Meijer and Magnum.

Monica was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Roberts; two brothers, George Armstrong Jr. and Rickie Bennett; grandparents, Cleo and Edna Bennett; and grandmother, Premma Hannon.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, July 18, 2022, at Thompson Cemetery in Gaston with burial of Monica’s ashes to follow.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to the Gaston American Legion.
