Paul S. McKibben

Paul S. McKibben, 82, of Muncie, passed away May 29, 2017, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Paul was born July 18, 1934 in Yorktown, Indiana to the late Robert and Lula (Barlow) McKibben. Paul was born and raised in Yorktown and graduated in 1952 from Yorktown High School. Paul was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge. Following a career in purchasing, he retired from United Technologies in 1999. Throughout his life, Paul had a passion for family, friends, fishing and fun!

Paul leaves his wife of 60 years, Shirley Ann (Carson) McKibben; his children, Kendra (Mark) Engle, Gregory (Sandy) McKibben, Douglas (Teresa) McKibben, and Beth (Steve) Harrison; 8 grandchildren, Andrew McKibben, Jennifer (McKibben) Zike, Lauren (McKibben) Edwards, Jesse Engle, Leslie (Engle) Caliz, Ali Harrison, Erin (McKibben) McDaniel, and Joel Harrison; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Lula (Barlow) McKibben and his siblings, Bula (Lon) Ailes, Eva Lavonne McKibben, and Robert (Wanda) McKibben. 

A funeral service to celebrate Paul’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, June 2, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN. Pastor Kyle Holt will officiate. Burial will follow in the Yorktown Cemetery with military honors conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember two hours prior to service from 12 noon until 2:00 P.M. Friday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue Fund (ARF), 1209 W. Riggin Rd., Muncie, IN 47303 or the American Heart Association, 113 N. Council St., Muncie, IN 47305.
