Philip E. Brown, 87, of Anderson, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Alexandria Care Center.
Philip was born on January 6, 1933 in Moonsville to the late Arnold and Maggie (Lykins) Brown. He was a 1950 graduate of Yorktown High School and went on to serve in the United States Navy. Philip worked for Delco Remy for 42 years. Philip also farmed and was a member of the Madison Park Church of God. Philip enjoyed mowing his yard, eating out, and spending time with is family and friends.
Philip is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Ramona (Graddy) Brown; two children, Keith Brown (wife Teri) and Karel Hawk (husband Mark); his sister, Vera Ingram; eight grandchildren, Christopher Baker (wife Krisha), Lacy Engle, Sienna Hoover, Gaylan Damron, Gabe Damron, Jeremiah Brown (wife Jess) Meagan Cooley (husband Tyson), and Maddi Hawk; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Philip was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathleen Engle.
A graveside service to celebrate Philip’s life will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, June 8, 2020 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 2900 S. Highbanks Rd. in Daleville. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Veteran’s of Delaware County Honor Guard.
