Richard R. Janney

Richard R. Janney, 87, of Gaston, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Signature Health Care in Muncie.

Dick was born August 15, 1929 in Hartford City, Indiana to the late Russell and Edna Janney. He was a 1949 Muncie Central graduate. He was an

Army veteran, who served in Korea during the Korean War. Dick retired from Imperial Cabinets in 1991 and had previously worked for Ball Brothers. He enjoyed walking and watching sports.

Dick is survived by his wife, Sherry Janney; brother, David Janney of Coral Gables, FL; sister, Nancy Atkins of Muncie; step-son, Sam Raymer of Gaston; and several nieces and nephews.

Dick was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Ann Janney; and sister, Phyllis Crain.

A funeral service to celebrate Dick’s life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Monday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to A.R.F. at 1209 W. Riggin Rd. Muncie, IN 47303 or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
