Robert Loyd Jones

Robert Loyd Jones, 74, of Muncie, passed away on Saturday, June 24, 2023, at Signature Health Care.

Robert was born on September 28, 1948, in Muncie to the late John Loyd and Juanita Jones. He was a 1967 graduate of Muncie Southside High School. Robert was an auto mechanic and worked as the service manager for Dehart Chevrolet for over 20 years. He was a member of the ATA and Monroe Township Conservation Club. Robert enjoyed racing go-carts and midgets, making fishing lures, fishing, and trap shooting.

Robert is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Diana Jones; a daughter, Amy Jackson (husband Nate) of Yorktown; three grandchildren, Aubrey Walter (husband Brett) of Granger, IN, Devon Greene (wife Keylee) of Quantico, VA, and Allyson Greene of Albany; three great-grandchildren, Brantley Greene, Bryson Greene, and Soren Walter; a sister, Judy Lowery (John) of Abilene, TX; aunt, Betty Wilson of Seminole, FL; two cousins, Cathy Wiley of Tampa, FL and Vickie Wilson of Albuquerque, NM; and his dog and constant companion, Harley.

Robert was preceded in death by a brother, Jeffrey Jones.

A private graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie with burial to follow. A public celebration of life service for Robert will be held in September.
