Roberta "Birdie" Lynn Young

Roberta Lynn Young, 59, of Hartford City, passed away Friday, March 25, 2016 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in North Vernon, Indiana.

Birdie was born October 19, 1956 in Minford, Ohio to Roy Sr. and Minnie Young. She graduated from Blackford County High School in 1975. She attended the Lighthouse Church in Hartford City. She enjoyed communicating with friends on Facebook and spending time with her family. She especially loved attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.

Birdie is survived by her parents; four children, Michael Wine (fiancé Tracy Hornbaker), Frank Brindle Jr. (significant other Candy Clock), Chasity Sours (fiancé Ted Webster) and Coy Brindle; 12 grandchildren, Nakkia Patrick, Braxtan Wine, Branstan Wine, Dylan Brindle, Reece Brindle, Kimberley Webster, Chance Lytle, Randy Webster, Desi Smith, Alissa Webster, Tammie Webster, and Landon Brindle; five siblings, Shirley Brisker (husband Raymond), Teresa Shirley (husband David) Carol Caruso, Roy Young Jr., and Troy Young (wife Jody); and several nieces and nephews;

Birdie was preceded in death by her grandson, Bostan Wine; and a daughter-in-law, Tereasa Smith.

A funeral service to celebrate Birdie’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, April 1, 2016, at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel at 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Burial will follow in Union Cemetery in Eaton, Indiana.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 31, 2016 and one hour prior to services on Friday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be given to Gant Funeral Home to aid in funeral expenses.
