Ruhamah A. Hensley, 81, passed away Sunday, January 31, 2016 at her home in rural Yorktown.
Ruhamah was born June 29, 1934 in Delaware County, Indiana to the late Therl and Bell Jackson. She graduated from Yorktown High School in 1952. She owned and operated Rural Fabric and Bridal for 50 years before she retired. Ruhamah was a member of the Yorktown Christian Church and the Sugar and Spice Home-Ec Club.
Ruhamah is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Gola “Toad” Hensley; two sons, Therl Hensley (wife Sharla) of Daleville and David Hensley Sr. (wife Mary Anne) of Yorktown; son-in-law, Jerry Loy of Yorktown; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Ruhamah was preceded in death by her daughter, Melinda Loy; and her brother, Jerry Jackson.
A funeral service to celebrate Ruhamah’s life will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Gant Funeral Homes Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, IN. Pastor Kyle Hunter will officiate. Entombment will follow in Hawk Cemetery.
Friends and family may gather from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM Thursday at Gant Funeral Homes Yorktown Chapel.
Memorial contributions may be given to the Yorktown Christian Church.
