Sandra G. (Skinner) Jensma

Sandra G. Jensma, 81, of Yorktown, passed away on June 24, 2024, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.

Sandra was born on January 26, 1943, in Muncie. She was a 1961 graduate of Yorktown High School. Sandra worked for the Muncie Eye Center as a Certified Surgical Technician. She was a member of the Friends Memorial Church and had attended the Yorktown Church of the Nazarene in her younger years. She was also a member of the PSI IOTA XI Sorority with her best friend Judy Clevenger. Sandra enjoyed crafts, reading, bird watching, baking, and visits to the casino.

Sandra is survived by two children, James Jensma Jr. (wife Angela) and Lisa Barber; four grandchildren, Amanda, Heather, Katherine, and Kayla; three great-grandchildren, Login, Adalynn, and Kaedyn; and dear friends, Patty Henman, Sara Demaree, and Heidi Graham.

Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, George and Katherine Skinner; and her loving husband of 54 years, James Jensma Sr.

A memorial service to celebrate Sandra’s life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Pastor Rusty Clements will officiate. Burial of Sandra’s ashes will be in Hawk Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
