Shirley Y. Goldsberry

Shirley Yvonne (Snodgrass) Goldsberry, 80, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017, at Van Wert Manor Nursing Home in Van Wert, Ohio.

Shirley was born May 18, 1937 in Anderson, IN. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and wife. Shirley graduated from Muncie Central High School in 1955 and was a majorette in Central’s marching band. Shirley had a great sense of humor and was a joy to be with and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.  While living in Muncie, she worked in the office at Stillman’s Dept. Store and Olan Mill’s studio. Before moving to Ohio, she attended Ball State University. The family would like to thank all of the staff of Van Wert Manor for the wonderful care that they have given Shirley.

Shirley is survived by her children, Yvonne Lynn (Sells) Park, Shawn Burford, and Sunshine Bricker; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Jan Dixon and Sally Taylor; brothers, Gerry D. Snodgrass, Daniel L. Kiste, David E. Snodgrass, and Martin D. Snodgrass, and many nieces and nephews that called her “Sweetie,” and that she truly was.

Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Goldsberry; her father and step mother, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Snodgrass; mother and step father, Mr. and Mrs. Marion M. Kiste; and infant son, Ricky Lee Sells.

Funeral services will be private. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery in Muncie.
