Stephen D. Hart

Stephen D. Hart, 61, of Gaston, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Steve was born October 16, 1955 in Muncie. He attended Yorktown High School. He served in the United States Army. Steve enjoyed fishing, camping, family, and friends.

Steve is survived by his girlfriend of 18 years, Diana McCarty of Gaston; two step-daughters, Meagan and Melia McCarty both of Muncie; a step-granddaughter, Dominique Douglas; father-in-law, Richard Bellomy; best friend, Johnny Johnson (wife Jane) of Gaston; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Steve was preceded in death by his father, George Hart; his mother, Kay (Peckham) Atwell; his daughter, Priscilla Hart; brother, George Hart; and sister, Linda Swift.

A memorial service to celebrate Steve’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 23, 2016 at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel at 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, IN. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Friday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
