Thelma Jean (Schaubut) Stephenson

Thelma Jean Stephenson, 83, of Yorktown, passed away Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at Yorktown Manor.

Thelma was born March 20, 1933 in Muncie to the late Robert and Iris (Leonard) Schaubut. Thelma married Harry Stephenson on September 8, 1951 and was married nearly 45 years before his death in 1996. Thelma was a member of the Cammack United Methodist Church.

Thelma is survived by four daughters, Debbie Reece (husband Ed), Avonna White (husband Jim), Marsha Day, and Teresa Deeds (husband Jerry) all of Muncie; a brother, Jack Schaubut; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Reece, Daniel Sandahl, Eddie Reece, Tammy White, Suzanne Hammond, Sean Weir, and Christopher Weir; Several great-grandchildren; two nieces, Donna Koger and Tina Meyers; and a nephew Butch Morgan.

Thelma was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Stephenson; parents, Robert and Iris Schaubut; sister, Velma Morgan; and a niece, Vickie Glaser.

A memorial service to celebrate Thelma’s life will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Cammack United Methodist Church, 1901 N. Cammack St., Muncie, IN 47304. Pastors Woody and Emily Sears will officiate. Interment of ashes will follow in Jones Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 12:00 P.M. Saturday at Cammack United Methodist Church.
