Twanette Thomas, 92, most frequently known as Toni, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 in Muncie after a brief illness at Signature Healthcare of Muncie, her home of the past several years. She was married to Louis E. Thomas on July 1, 1945 in Colfax, Indiana and they enjoyed 42 years of marriage before his passing and raised a wonderful family together and relocated from Frankfort, Indiana to Muncie, Indiana when her husband was transferred by Nickel Plate Railroad (later Norfolk Southern Railway.)
She was born October 10, 1928, the daughter of John Irons and Icea Irons Snowden in Elizaville, Indiana, and grew up as the youngest of ten children. Toni attended Frankfort High School and was a homemaker, mother and grandmother extraordinaire. She was a proud wife and mother of United States Army veterans and she also was proud to have worked continuously at various positions all her life since the age of sixteen. Toni held long term positions at Mallory Controls in Frankfort, Indiana and Corrugated Container, in Muncie and retired from Lifetouch Senior Pictures in Muncie. Toni counts it among her blessings to have travelled the world with friends for many years. She will be remembered for always having an open door to family, visitors and their friends with enough food to feed whoever came in the door.
Toni was an active member of Yorktown United Methodist Church where she was a member of the CIK Class and assisted with church dinners and events. She had been a long time “pink lady” volunteer at Frankfort Hospital.
Toni is survived by a son, Randy Thomas (wife Paula) and daughter, Cheryl Fauquher (husband Ron) both of Muncie, and two former daughters-in-law, Barbara Thomas (husband Greg) of Rossville, Indiana and Becky Williams of Hemet, California.
Twanette was blessed by eight grandchildren, Chris Williams, Shannon Young, Donovan Thomas, Derek Thomas (deceased), Jennifer Fauquher, Andrew Fauquher, Dustin Thomas and Kasie Thomas (partner Karl Brown). She was also blessed with sixteen great grandchildren, Payton Newberry, Paige Newberry (deceased), Colton Fauquher, Carter Fauquher, Ainsley Fauquher, Kayla Williams, Jesse Williams, Isreal Williams, Christopher Williams, Oziaha Williams, Alex Young, Emily Young, Preston Shipbaugh, Keilyn Thomas Patterson (deceased), Kruz Brown, and Kamahn Brown. She also was fortunate to know and love 17 nieces and nephews.
Twanette was preceded in death by her husband, Louis E. Thomas who passed away in 1987 and a son James D. Thomas of Frankfort, Indiana who passed away in 1994. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Derek Thomas and two great grandchildren, Paige Newberry and Keilyn Thomas Patterson. She also was preceded in death by her parents and nine brothers and sisters, Herbert Irons, Hubert Irons, Lloyd Irons, Lavonne Dick, Gail Bradley, Leon Dick, Mike Irons, Iola Kelley and Eileen Green

A family graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9th, 2021 with Pastor Cindy Osgood presiding at Bunnell Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana where she will be buried next to her husband, Louis and son Jim. There will be no calling hours.
