Walter W. Lueck

Walter W. “Sonny” Lueck, 91, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2015 at his home in Muncie.

Walter was born February 25, 1924 to the late Walter A. and Lucille (Fenwick) Lueck. He graduated from Yorktown High School in 1942 and attended photography school in Connecticut. He worked as a Commercial Photographer. Walter was an Army Air Corp veteran, serving in the South Pacific during WWII. Walter had attended the Yorktown United Methodist Church. He was a member and past president of the E.A.A. (Experimental Aircraft Association), and member and past president of the Yorktown Alumni Association.

Walter is survived by two children, Vicki Craig (husband Ralph) of Yorktown and Kevin Lueck (wife Julie) of Springport; step-son, Bob McNair of North Carolina; three grandchildren, Jeff Monks (fiancé Suzann Coleman) of Yorktown, Mindy Monks (companion Brian Meadows) of Yorktown, and Alyssa Lueck of Muncie; two great-grandchildren, Vanessa Meadows and Emilee Meadows of Yorktown; and a brother, Warren E. Lueck of Westfield.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Eloise Lueck.

A funeral service to celebrate Walter’s life will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, December 21, 2015 at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, with Pastor Peter Curts officiating.

Burial with graveside military honors will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Yorktown Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM Monday at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
