William H. Becktell Jr.

William H. Becktell Jr., 61, of Hartford City, passed away peacefully, Monday, April 3, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital due to health complications.

William was born November 13, 1955 in Muncie, Indiana to the late William Sr. and Betty (Rittenhouse) Becktell. He attended Eastbrook High School and had worked as a truck driver for North American Van Lines before his retirement. William attended Lighthouse Church in Hartford City. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and especially loved his dogs.

William is survived by his lifelong companion, Joyce Becktell of Gaston; brother, Samuel Barry Becktell of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

William was preceded in death by a brother, James Becktell; and sister, Billie Cason.

A memorial service to celebrate William’s life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember one hour prior to the memorial service from 12:00 noon until 1:00 P.M. Monday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
