William H. Doughty Sr., 90, passed away on Friday, April 22, 2022, on the farm he loved in rural Parker City.
Bill was born on December 11, 1931, in Muncie to the late George Sr. and Hazel (Fably) Doughty. He attended Harrison Township Schools and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. Bill retired from General Motors in 1988. He was a lifelong farmer and raised Hereford Cattle. Bill also a school bus driver for Liberty Perry Schools. He enjoyed watching Purdue basketball and Reds baseball.
Bill is survived by a daughter, Rita Dragoo (husband Tad); five granddaughters, Laura Mickler (husband Alex), Andrea Doughty, Rachel Leatherwood (husband Corey), Shelby DeHaven (husband Zachary), and Cortney Stephens (husband Cameron); six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ferrell Doughty and Jack Doughty Sr.; sister Alta Renner; and dozens of Nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley (Modglin) Doughty; son, Bill Doughty Jr.; and several brothers and sisters.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date. Bill will be buried in Hawk Cemetery in Yorktown.
